Omnichannelredraws the map of retail
In late August 2016 over the 150 managers ofretail and FMCG producing companies met at a specialized conference from the series Retail in Detail to discuss the chances and risks brought by the development of new digital channels and their interaction with the traditional brick & mortar stores. The program focused on analyses, visions, strategies, and best practices of FMCG retailers.
In spite of the different starting points, the discussion came to the conclusion that the retail success is mainly dependant on the offer of customer service, personalized and reliable data on customers and their positive shopping experience. It is, however, necessary to analyse the data perfectly, to understand the needs and desires of customers and to have an economically sustainable strategy. As was the final comment by Petr Bena: „The digital revolution is in progress. It redraws the map of retail and some players will undoubtedly go out because of the loss of companies that are on the edge, will be unsustainable in the long term."
